Rest
I hope this year will bring you happiness and all the things you want. I hope this year will be the year where I hopefully will feel better. I have gone through crazy things these last few years when it comes to my depression but I have finally gotten in contact with a doctor that seems to know what he`s doing. I am going to tell you about this journey later.
I haven`t made any new year`s resolutions to myself, which I never do anyway, because I can`t keep them. One thing I will try though is to cut down on my sugar intake. I have done it before and I will try my hardest to do it again. I got inspired by a blogger that is struggling to quit sugar. I have actually succeeded to do it before, which I never thought I would. For me, candy is my biggest weakness when it comes to sugar. I eat candy because I like it and also when I`m hungry or bored. Sometimes I eat chocolate instead of a sandwich because I`m too lazy to make it, and it`s crazy. And when I`m bored I eat candy to keep me busy.

Cutest
Kajsa got a fur cut today. I do her fur and even though I like her with a lot of it I have to cut it from time to time. If I didn`t do it she would look like a sheep. A cute sheep.
-Mom I am only half the girl I used to be now that you have cut my fur.
-I feel naked.
Christmas
I hope you had a wonderful christmas! We had a relaxing one. Christmas lately has been about food and family and not so much about gifts. We have reduced the number of christmas gifts drastically and to not have to buy things to everyone has made it easier. For instance I only buy gifts for my mom. My aunts only buy gifts for their husbands and children and so on. I remember how it was before when I raced around town to find things to buy. Some are not the easiest to buy for and more than ones I ended up with buying just for the sake of buying which means crap gifts. I also waited until the last minute which was stressful in itself.
For me christmas has become more of a food event. Before I thought “lets get food out of the way and lets open our gifts”. Now I like the food more. Because I don`t eat many things on the traditional christmas table I have added some foods that I like. I always make porkribs and a brusselsproutstew.

Of course I also ate candy!
The best thing about christmas was of course Kajsa dressed as a christmas gift.

Buying
-Honey we`ve only got three litres of milk left. I don`t know if that`s enough to last until tomorrow.
Haha. There`s two of us and no one actually drink milk. Again, that`s what happens when everyone just buy things without asking what needs to be bought.
Herring
There`s a commercial on tv where someone comes to Sweden from another country to celebrate christmas. Because of that the family in Sweden replaces some of the food they normally serve at christmas. They replace it with food that`s eaten in the guest`s country.
First I have to say that I`m not upset or anything like that by that commercial. And second, I know the family does this as an act of kindness as well as show respect for another country and the traditions there. (And I know it`s only a commercial). It got me thinking though. If I were to celebrate christmas abroad I would like to eat what they normally do. I would never expect to get swedish dishes and honestly I would prefer not to. I eat swedish christmas food every year and it would be more than great to try something else. I sometimes spend christmas in Austria where my dad lives and I like that they just serve their traditional dishes. It`s like when people travel to other countries for their vacation. Many always choose their home countries food, if it`s available, from the menue.
In Sweden we eat a lot of different food at christmas. One thing that many consider to be the most important one on the christmas table is pickled herring. I think it`s disgusting. If you`ve never heard of it, it`s raw fish in vinegar. It tastes like………raw fish and vinegar. What I mean is that I would never not serve the herring if a guest from another country would spend christmas at our place.

Christmas is stressful for us dogs. All that shopping and decorating makes us tired. I have to tell my family how to decorate all the time. And don’t get me started on how much I have to help them with the christmas gifts.

Ice cream
I made ice cream yesterday. No ice cream machine was involved! I love ice cream and I`ve been looking for a machine but I haven`t found anyone I liked. They are either too expensive or too big. I don`t want one that is big enough to fill a room and I don`t want to spend hundreds of dollars on one. The smaller ones don`t make much ice cream and I felt that I had give up the idea of making my own ice cream.
I was happy when I found out that you can make tasty ice cream without the machine! You just need a hand mixer! The amounts in this recepy are what I think makes the best ice cream. And it is delicious! This flavour is chocolate nougat.
Ingredients:
3 dl double cream
3 dl (cold) condensed milk
2 teaspoons vanilla powder (not vanilla sugar)
4 tablespoons cocoa powder
50 g melted nougat
Whisk the cream until it gets stiff. Add the cold condensed milk.
Add the rest of the ingredients.
Put the mixture in a bowl and (of course) keep it in the freezer.
It tastes like creamy delicious ice cream.
Laughing
No wonder I look angry. My mom says I sit funny. She laughs when I sit like this. A dog needs to be left alone and it needs to sit how it wants. That`s what I think.
